Back in the West

I have to admit, coming in for a landing over Salt Lake City, that first glimpse of the mountains - rugged and still bearing a few small patches of snow - did make me a little teary.

There are so many things about the west that put my soul at ease.  The vast sky, the mountains, the dry air, the crisp, cool nights, the sage brush and canyons, not to mention dearly loved family and friends.

What has really put my soul at ease on this trip, though, is realizing that while I am discovering new joys in a new home, everything I love about the west is still here, waiting for me whenever I may need it.
