In order to satisfy my creative compulsions for the past few weeks, I've started sending letters and postcards to my friends and family back home to let them know how much I miss them all. Next week, I will be making a quick trip back to Idaho to visit all of my much missed loved ones, and I will also be reunited with my sewing machine! Even though I'll be back to sewing, I'm hoping to continue with my mail art projects as a fun way to keep in touch with everyone back West.
The first card I sent was a display of my great love for Boise and and her foothills:
I am infatuated with the processes of reclamation and transformation...making the old new again...it's all about second chances and beautiful change. The best part of all of this is the inspiration that comes through scavenging for supplies...I'm always on the lookout for that next item awaiting its chance to become something new.
